Happy New Year from Musicology Now

(New Years fireworks over Pikes Peak, Lars Leber Photography)
As we all return to our musicological tasks at the outset of the new year, here are a few things to look forward to on Musicology Now during January 2017:

Later this week we'll feature a piece on the recently departed George Michael by Matt Jones.

Then, watch for a set of brief responses to the music of the new film Rogue One by Naomi Graber, James Buhler, Frank Lehman, and Brooke McCorkle.

In the lead-up to and in the wake of the inauguration of President Donald Trump, Musicology Now will feature a series of inauguration-related posts by Dan Blim, Katherine Lynn Meizel, Dana Gorzelany-Mostak, and Naomi Graber.

To keep tabs on all the music-related goings on during inauguration day itself--on January 20, 2017--Musicology Now will run its first-ever "live blog."  Over the course of the day a team of musicologists will provide updates and insights--check back often.  And, join in the conversation by tweeting using the hashtag #MusicologyRightNow

The end of the month will showcase previews of forthcoming books by Tim Rutherford-Johnson and Seth Brodsky.

Please be in touch with the Musicology Now editorial team with individual post ideas, colloquia proposals, or anything else about the blog that strikes your fancy.

Happy New Year!
